Tyrepower Joondalup Festival of Motoring Roars Back to Life on 4 – 5 May 2024

The much-anticipated rescheduled date for the Tyrepower Joondalup Festival of Motoring has been released with the motoring spectacle now set to reverberate the streets of the Joondalup city centre on the 4 – 5 May.

The festival showcases the automobile’s design, function, and culture in a way that you don’t have to be a lifelong car enthusiast to appreciate by blending the thrill of motorsport with entertainment, activations and gourmet delights.
The second running of the annual motoring festival was initially scheduled for November last year but was postponed when a bushfire took hold in nearby Wanneroo less than 48 hours out from the event.

Event Director Justin Hunt was overwhelmed by the public’s positive response to the difficult decision to reschedule. “Even though we knew postponing the event was the right thing to do on a number of fronts, we weren’t prepared for the outpouring of support for our decision from both stakeholders and the wider community,” said Mr Hunt. “We’re now looking forward to the rescheduled date and putting on an exhilarating programme of motoring-themed activities and experiences.”

Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said “It was the right call by the event organisers to postpone the event in November out of respect for those affected by that terrible fire. I encourage people get out in big numbers over the first weekend of May to experience this two-day celebration of all things fast and furious. If ever an event deserved the support of our community, it’s the Tyrepower Joondalup Festival of Motoring.”

The revised line-up also introduces a new addition, the JFOM Trash or Treasure Car Jumble. Attendees can stroll through a treasure trove of automotive wonders, a golden opportunity to snag that elusive automotive part, or just browse amongst fellow motoring aficionados.

All prior entries to the Tyrepower Joondalup Sprint are still valid. For those who couldn’t make the original event date but would like to take part in the Sprint action on May 5, entries will be reopening soon.

Event officials and competitors who registered for the November event can expect to be contacted by organisers regarding availability for the rescheduled date.

Note that road closures around the Joondalup CBD will occur on 5 May. Access maps will be made available on www.jfom.com.au closer to the event.
